Satya Bharti Abhiyan

‘Satya Bharti Abhiyan’ was launched in 2014 by the Foundation to improve sanitation conditions and foster behavioural change in communities. Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call to the corporate sector in his Independence Day (2014) speech to strengthen the Government’s initiative in this aspect, the Foundation adopted Ludhiana and Amritsar districts (rural) as its focus area for the improvement of sanitation facilities.

Mandate:

• Provide a toilet in every rural Ludhiana household that doesn’t have one

• Provide a separate girls’ toilet in every Government school that doesn’t have one

• Bring about behavioural change towards improving sanitation conditions

• Implement independently, i.e. without funds/resources from the government/beneficiary

Impact:

• 32 K+ households and institutions provided with toilets

• 219 K+ people directly benefitted
